According to CCM, in Q3 2015, the exports of cystine from China rose, with Shine Star (Hubei) as the major contributor.
According to the statistics from China Customs, the export volume of cystine (HS Code: 29309010) was 13.309 tonnes in Sept. 2015, down by 69.89%; and the value of these exports was USD213,021, down by 64.34% MoM. And the total export volume of this product in Q3 was 98.539 tonnes, up by 13.44% QoQ and 58.15% YoY.

Major export destinations
In Q3, the total export volume to Italy was 21 tonnes, still maintaining the top-1 export destination of China’s cystine as well as in H1 2015.
Other major destinations, such as the US, Japan, India and Vietnam, remained stable.

Major exporters
In Q3 2015, the largest cystine exporter in China was Shine Star (Hubei) Biological Engineering Co., Ltd. (Shine Star (Hubei)), who exported 50 tonnes, accounting for over 50% of the national total. The second one is Wuhan Shunyi Biotechnology Co., Ltd., with export volume of 6.50 tonnes, followed by Ningbo Daxie Development Zone Haide Amino Acid Industry Co., Ltd. (5.31 tonnes).
Shine Star (Hubei), a subsidiary of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., is a large hydrolytic amino acid producer in China. Its portfolio spans arginine, histidine, cystine, cysteine, leucine, tyrosine and their derivatives. In H1, its revenue was USD88.09 million (RMB540 million). Currently, Shanghai Fosun focuses on developing overseas markets.
Export ports
In Sept., the major export ports of cystine in China are Shanghai Customs, Ningbo Custom and Hangzhou Custom, with export volumes of 11.22 tonnes, 2.06 tonnes, and 0.025 tonnes respectively.
CCM stated that to develop minor amino acid is the major direction. Yichang Sanxia Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Xuchang Ruida Biology Technology Co., Ltd., following suit, construct minor amino acid projects.
